Three renowned media personalities have been announced to host the much-awaited 2020 National Readathon Festival. Dubbed a ‘‘Festival of 9 Authors and 9 Readings’’ the public reading event comes off by Zoom on June 13, 2020.

Anny Osabutey, Communications Director at the National Petroleum Authority and former broadcast journalist, Kojo Akoto Boateng, Digital Media Manager at Citi FM and Elizabeth Johnson, Producer of the Writers Project Radio Show on Citi FM were announced at a short ceremony in Accra.

Speaking at the event, Nana Elikem, the Chief Coordinator of the National Readathon said the reading campaign continues its tradition of reaching out to book lovers in Ghanaian society who are also social influencers. ‘‘These three people complete the set of stars we need to deliver our best readathon ever. We are grateful that they have come onboard for this project.”

Anny Osabutey, Kojo Akoto Boateng Boateng and Elizabeth Johnson are expected to moderate the three sessions of the reading fiesta which starts at 2 PM. Featuring an impressive line-up of writers of different generations and diverse background, the literary show has attracted interest both in Ghana and abroad.

The DAkpabli National Readathon is a roadshow public reading project which has brought book reading closer to a cross-section of Ghanaians. Happening this Saturday, June 13, the edition promises a three-hour fiesta of reading pleasure streamed live on Zoom.

The featured guests are, Nana Kwasi Gyan Apenteng, Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng, Amma Ampong Agyeman-Prempeh, Alba K. Sumprim and Nana Awere Damoah.  The rest are Bisi Adjapon, Audrey Obuobisa-Darko, Marjorie Boafo Appiah aka Marjy Marj and Kofi Akpabli
